Re: Kimchi: ASi o ASSI or ARI Market in Santiago?

I started to make Kimchi at home since I moved to Chile because I was not happy with Kimchi in Patronato. It is too expensive and very salty for my taste. You can find all ingredients in La Vega and Patronato, usually in winter. Yes, it is not cheap. Salt? It’s perfect for me. I could eat the whole...

Re: Building house in Chile the "gringo" way

Yesterday our foam insulation guy did not show up and we can’t find a replacement for him yet. Will have to wait till Monday, hopefully he will be here. While we wait we are finishing up the entry into subdivision. Please explain this picture. Can't figure it out. What comes next? I will spray clos...

Re: Building house in Chile the "gringo" way

yea, with plumbing, my thing is always accessibility. I will not have a chance to access this part of plumbing anymore. Breaking concrete is not really an option, so I just did whatever I think will protect me from that. I used 4 inch pipe for a main line all over the house with a proper slope. Eve...

Re: Building house in Chile the "gringo" way

First time in my life I did plumbing by myself in the house! My plumber was not around, that is the time of the year where it's hard to get anyone to do anything. The idea of getting Chilean maestro involved was not looking good, so... I decided to do it. A few hours of Youtube education, then check...

Re: Kimchi: ASi o ASSI or ARI Market in Santiago?

Oh my, my... Kimchi was so good, 5-star rating from me. I love all kinds of fermented and spicy food and this was incredible. We have mastered making the sauerkraut and ginger/lemon kombucha but I was not able to do kimchi as good yet. One day I will.

Re: Kimchi: ASi o ASSI or ARI Market in Santiago?

What is the deal, is the ARI Market the former ASI or ASSI market, I'm confused :?: :?: :?: Anyways, I finally found my fix of FRESH probiotic genuine made (thanks to the large Correano expat population) kimchi in my excursion into Santiasco today. Muy rico and compares to the fresh Korean Supermar...

Re: Building house in Chile the "gringo" way

I get what you are trying to do, and probably a good idea for the first round, but you got a lot of wiggle room to cut cost and still get the same functional strength/ quality. It is a house, not a 20 story parking garage. you know that super overpriced bridge to chiloe? they sourced all their meta...
