Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I'm going to chime in on our current corona situation. First, to review the facts. All of the mRNA injections are similar in that none of them actually claim to provide immunity. In fact, the Pfizer CEO has specifically stated that the injection "does not provide immunity or prevent transmission." ...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

FYI, Chile contracted 10 million doses of pfizer, and I believe with tomorrow's shipment of like 400,000 they have only delivered approximately 4 million doses. there was also a low profile article last month that they had contracted another 4 million pfizer, with no other specifics. NZ is having s...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Canada has a quarantine system that makes it very complicated/expensive to get back in and the vaccine passport they are coming out with does not consider the Sinovac vaccine. It looks unlikely that it will at any time. From what I have read there is no known contra-indication to take Pfizer 3 mont...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

The healthcare workers union has asked for Paris to leave office due to "gross misconduct", and they're also planning on suing the government: https://www.t13.cl/noticia/nacional/confusam-permanencia-paris-acciones-legales-11-06-2021 they are just another fucking political party pretending to be a ...

Re: The New Constitution

yea, we decided not to go vote yesterday as we were all fine with either of the two canidates winning in los lagos. Besides it is undemocratic. I believe in person, one vote one. none of these candidates were worth me voting twice for them. 😆 I am just happy the FA canidate lost in the metro region...

Re: The New Constitution

I'm surprised no one has made any commentary here yet about yesterday's run off elections. Then again, there is technically not an appropriate thread (this is the closest recent subject in my humble opinion) and it was for "governors", whose job function is not 100% clearly defined yet from what I ...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

and the back peddling and excuses have already started in regards to "herd immunity" and how many people may need to be vaccinated, will there be a third shot required, etc. https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/2021/06/12/1023657/inmunidad-rebano-vacunar-100-poblacion.html now, in fairness, we al...

Re: how long outside of Chile without losing residencia

Is the above still correct?
I.e if I come back say every 6 to 8 months for a few weeks then I will not loose my permanent residency status?
Never got around to doing the whole citizenship part.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Our town in the past has been way quieter in phase 1 because many of the stores and businesses are closed. Easily way under half the people of phase 2 or pre COVID situation. I think the quarantine was probably the right decision. It may have to be the last one, however. went to town yesterday, we ...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

my guesstimate right now is the government has between 2 to 4 weeks for a dramatic drop in cases to appear, or there is going to be some very serious questions about the handling of the vaccine program. we are crossing the 60% fully vaccinated line, should be 70%+ by next week. add say 14 days to i...
