Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

and the back peddling and excuses have already started in regards to "herd immunity" and how many people may need to be vaccinated, will there be a third shot required, etc. https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/2021/06/12/1023657/inmunidad-rebano-vacunar-100-poblacion.html now, in fairness, we al...

Re: how long outside of Chile without losing residencia

Is the above still correct?
I.e if I come back say every 6 to 8 months for a few weeks then I will not loose my permanent residency status?
Never got around to doing the whole citizenship part.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Our town in the past has been way quieter in phase 1 because many of the stores and businesses are closed. Easily way under half the people of phase 2 or pre COVID situation. I think the quarantine was probably the right decision. It may have to be the last one, however. went to town yesterday, we ...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

my guesstimate right now is the government has between 2 to 4 weeks for a dramatic drop in cases to appear, or there is going to be some very serious questions about the handling of the vaccine program. we are crossing the 60% fully vaccinated line, should be 70%+ by next week. add say 14 days to i...

Re: The Chile Economy, Social Crisis and Virus Impact

I have been pretty critical of the quality of scientific research papers coming out of chile. Honestly, I just thought it was me. nope, unesco thinks chile is producing piles of crap too; even though the volume is fairly high for the size of the population. https://www.emol.com/noticias/Tecnologia/...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Re: The New Constitution

Her'es hoping all this backfires on Jadue, here I find myself agreeing with a socialist. Narvaez calling him out, With regards to popular support for Jadue, and with regards to constitutional change, either the public is confused or this was never about what the public wanted. The two are not compat...

Re: The New Constitution

I'm convinced that Chile has collectively gone bonkers. How can Jadue even be touted as a presidential candidate? As if his Chávez-style economic proposals weren't bad enough, he is also inflaming anti-Jewish sentiment within Chile, adding race hatred to the class hatred that the Communists are suc...

Re: The New Constitution

Did anyone see that interview of Jadue about a year or so ago where when the concept of private property be questioned was brought up he actually considered it an idea worth considering? Also, supposedly he is well known among the call-boy community in Santiago and that also brings up the possibili...

Re: The New Constitution

here is the thing about the constitution body. they are a technical committee setup by congress to perform a task, draft a constitution. they have NO constitutional legitimacy or standing beyond that. so these morons claiming they have some mandate from "el Pueblo" is just bullshit. notice this all...

Yes and when Daniel Jadue becomes prez everyone will be happy, there will be no (...) stealing from the poor Interestingly, Jadue is currently being investigated by PDI for grafting, as his lawyer allegedly negotiated bribes on his behalf with a lamp post company, as well as negotiating prices for ...
