Re: Farm land.

well for all of you that felt left out of the property tax party, brace for impact. Thanks to the high-profile natue of Pinera's screw-up with his own property, it looks like the chilean IRS suddendly is motivated to reasses property taxes all across the country, especially on rural properties it h...

Re: Coyhaique Most Polluted City in the Americas

. First they need to stop companies rorting everyone else. Electricity, fuel, telecoms, etc etc. Why should "they", meaning the government care? The higher the retail prices are, the more tax they collect, and a lot of that money stays with them. And the politicians and big business are way too coz...

Re: Coyhaique Most Polluted City in the Americas

It's not only the poor who have shitty insulation and use green wood, because some of the most dirty belching chimneys are from houses that are clearly not short of pesos . Most of the island is ABC1 families and even they can't switch to mildly polluting efficient pellet stoves. The mentality is p...

Re: Coyhaique Most Polluted City in the Americas

I don't know if it's worse his year or I just forget about it each year, as I dont live in the toxic pit that is any urban area in southern Chile in fall/winter, so I dont have to deal with it. Seriously though it is foul and toxic the wood smoke in Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt this year. It seeps ...

Re: Argentina power outage

I think Chile has 3 - 4 grids, but there is 1 that covers most of the population and most of the power. I think the main grid starts somewhere north of La Serena and goes all the way down to the lakes region. Yup, here's an interesting diagram of it and generation points showing the different types...

Re: Internet Connection

Movistar fiber is great, never had any issues at all in the last couple of years. Their customer service is shit though, but, again, I've had no reason to talk to them lately. VTR is great, too, when it's on, but I keep getting service interuptions every few weeks for no reason whatsoever. Their cu...

Parkside, is necessary to learn how to crawl before we do the walking and that´s a fact. Do not sell your property, get rid of your rental, throw your pots and pans, your cat and your mother in law out of the door. Don´t hire no one or translate anything until you are 100% positively sure that you ...
