Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019

No new technology required: An unfortunate necessity in an increasingly aggressive world. In 2011, after riots broke out in London, one super-recognizer, Gary Collins, a cop focussing on gangs, studied the grainy image of a young man who had hurled petrol bombs and set fire to cars. The rioter wore...

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019

commie camilla was just on tv, claiming that the vast amount of deaths have been killed by the military, and that people were being "disappeared" and tortured by the military. Huh! More people are killed on the roads during a typical long weekend feriado . Can nobody here see what the Commies are t...

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019

I wrote about how the Carabineros and Army saved centro Llolleo (except maybe Tottus) on Monday. According to the the gobernadora of the Provincia of San Antonio: reveló que la mayor parte de los saqueadores y personas que causan destrozos "ni siquiera es de la provincia" . The loudest pot drumming (and the longest during these days) is going on, continuously, for more than an hour, accompanied by sort of a flashing light effects.
Take care Valparaiso, Glad my friend and his young family left today.

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019

To what Admin said earlier re relatively low casualties, I've heard from several people that there are over 40 dead and 150 missing. I'm not even on social media, except WhatsApp and this forum I guess. But if that's what's circulating, it doesn't even have to be true.........

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-10-22/chile-s-violent-protests-have-a-worrisome-message-for-the-world?srnd=premium This is worth a read. Also the juxtaposition of the Valpo and Frutillar photos really is quite something. Yup definitely worth a read forwarded that on to a few people ...

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019

My friend and his family have left Valpo for the time being, not sure how long they will be down here, they arrive tomorrow, but it's been like living in a war zone last few days he said. Their kids are traumatized and the smoke and teargas in the area is getting too much and no supplies nearby.

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019

Yes, definitely a lighter mood, as in, that was scary but now it's over. Long crowds of maybe 50-80 people waiting to get into the two local Liders and Jumbo. The owners of the local almacenes are the happiest I've seen them in like three years, their workers brushing dirt off the empty shelves aft...

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019

well, my father always had a grim sense of humor. when I was upset about something, he was fond of saying, "don't worry, I can guarantee you will have bigger problems tomorrow". which always left me, "how the hell is that supposed to make me feel better"? Haha🤣 My grandfather used to say something ...

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019

It really is hard to keep track of all the conspiracy theories coming through, although that's human nature I guess in uncertain times and when there are events that shock people, they figure it must be something more complicated and sinister. So the other main conspiracy theory is that this is Madu...
