Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

I mean, you still got $10 bucks back. It's not that bad. I've placed a few orders for the first time since I've noticed the free shipping promo and created this thread. All of my stuff was shipped through Chilexpress, although there shouldn't be any delays with deliveries here. I would be more conce...

in other news, minister of health Paris apparently has tested positive for covid and has respiratory symptoms after a trip to chiloe to promote vaccination in isolated areas.
To be fair, he's 73. Not all elderly people develop a large enough antibody count.

Re: The New Constitution

I understand where you're coming from, but what would be an alternative? I guess Chile could restore mandatory voting, but other than that, I don't see election turnovers rising anytime soon.

Re: The New Constitution

I have a question, where is the legitimacy in this process ? Yes people think they are having a say, but not many want to actually excercise that right it seems. If we are talking of percentages of the population that supported the Pinochet Constitution vs the what's going on now, the percentages a...

Re: The New Constitution

so, the extreme left of the elected writers are already gone full communist morons, and 34 of them are making all sorts of demands about changing the make-up of the constitutional congress, new laws, demilitarization of the 9th region, ending "political prisons", changing the 2/3rds quarem, etc, et...

Re: Accessing AFP funds from abroad

Nothing on my second and third withdrawal requests. Honestly, my expectations are low that I will ever be able to get anything done, even if I were to be in Chile and go in person, they would probably reject my expired carnet on the spot essentially leaving the rest of my funds in purgatory indefin...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Rapid antigen tests in Santiago usually go from $16.000 to $45.000. Ask me how I know.

So $200k-ish for a 25-test box is a very good price.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Thrombosis is a relatively common side effect of COVID-19, with a 1%-ish chance for mild cases and 5% for mild cases. Not taking a vaccine that has roughly a 0.001% chance of causing thrombosis shows at best a serious lack of math knowledge.

Re: The Chile Economy, Social Crisis and Virus Impact

My understanding is that AFP investiments can only be done within a certain group of financial instruments, due to the way the system was set up by financially conservative bureaucrats without enough knowledge about mutual funds and diversification. Their fees are bloated because they can be bloated...

Your guess is as good as mine.
