Encouraging someone to learn Spanish by talking to maestros in a construction project seems like a sure way to be ripped and to lose a lot of money.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile
It seems that the government """forgot""" to pay Clínica Las Condes for the Covid treatments they've been giving under the coordinated Covid patient transfers protocol. Re: Mandatory quarantine requirements for all travelers to Chile (UPDATE 2, Jan 7th)
Hi everyone: Please don't jump all over me for asking questions that you think are obvious. We were in Chile last time in 2018. Didn't apply for residency at the time and want to come back now and stay 6 months in Chile and 6 months in Argentina. Is this still possible on tourist visas? We don't ha...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile
El Mercurio today, first hard info I have seen in a while. Appears believable. BioNTech is a new name to me. BioNTech was the German company that actually researched and developed the vaccine. They've partnered with Pfizer to use Pfizer's production infrastructure to have the scale needed to make e...

Re: Best Travel Health Insurance?
To be honest I have traveled a fair amount and I have never bought travel insurance. I assume you are from the US and if so most US health insurances should cover you down here if you have a catastrophic accident. You will have to pay then reimburse the expense when you get back to the states. That...

Re: US Citizen Having Baby, Can The Baby Have 1 Last Name in Chile?
All, We are about to have a baby and I was curious if the Registro Civil will allow us to register our new child with only 1 last name like in the US. Does anyone know or have experience with this? Thanks But why not use 2 surnames? As Charles, I always have problems with databases. Normally I use ...

Re: Where to buy vitamins in Chile?
I think the point that's being discussed is that D3 vitamin pills cost USD $0.42 per <SPAM WORD> in Chile and $0.015 per <SPAM WORD> in the USA. So they're available, but they're very expensive here.Donnybrook2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 6:27 pmI buy my vitamins in my local Salcobrand. Never had a problem.

Re: Mandatory quarantine requirements for all travelers to Chile (UPDATE 2, Jan 7th)
I was supposed to see that from miles away? ... By checking at the official government website? It was linked multiple times at this and other threads already. If you have anything helpful to say, I am all ears. Don't come to Chile if you can't afford to stay indefinitely. Rules are being updated f...

Re: Mandatory quarantine requirements for all travelers to Chile (UPDATE 2, Jan 7th)
It's just painful to reschedule eight people, get time off work, guides, lodge capacity, etc. I mean, Chile has passed the better part of the last year completely closed off, and even when it opened, it was with a 14-day quarantine for tourists. While rescheduling vacations is certainly a hassle, y...

Re: Mandatory quarantine requirements for all travelers to Chile (UPDATE 2, Jan 7th)
I'm a U.S. citizen. I've flown to Santiago about 20 times and am usually asked about the purpose and length of stay at the Border Control kiosk. I don't want to lie and say I am staying a month so it will seem more likely I intend to quarantine...if the Border Control folks can access my return fli...
