Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Manaus, brazil, city of 2.2 million in the heart of the Amazon, I have happened to visit a few years ago, went from 30 burials a day to 100 a day. Most are not being tested or registered. https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/04/23/842802500/living-through-a-nightmare-brazil-s-...

Re: Chilean Borders To close Wednesday, March 18th

'o.k., seems the unconfirmed rumor is that the restrictions on international flights may be lifted soon, as the goverment only renewed the restriction for one more week. There will still be a 14 day quaretine, but it seems they may start letting none-chilean citizens or residents in to Chile. ' I di...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I beg to differ re the view that some have about these 'evacuation' flights.... and it is very easy to be wise after the event I was booked to fly back to Ecuador from Oz at the end of March and then back to Oz from Santiago at the end of June... thats a small part of my annual routine... if this bu...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Last week(?) a piece was posted about Chile considering a flight to China via Australia to pick up medical kit rather than risk going through the US. Seems it has gone ahead.... this morning ( Australian time ) a LAN 787 ( CC-BGH ) was showing on flightradar24.com between Auckland and Shanghai. (Upd...

In flight radar app there is a latam flight taking off with no destination set, also unusual.
Yes LA 1117 left P Montt at 0829 with no destination set.... is currently approaching Sydney NSW

Very odd.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Point of order peoples... it is 'borders'... unless 'merican english is different... It does start to great after a bit... not wanting to sound pedantic... Australia's response continues to be lacklustre.... NZ's not much better.. People arriving in both countries are meant to self isolate themselve...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I don't think they *have* to do anything..... if Ecuador is anything to go by.... Foreigners already in the air at the time of anouncment are allowed in .... nationals and permanent residents have 24 hours to buy a ticket.. "Vicepresidencia @Vice_Ec · 2h “Se prohíbe el ingreso de extranjeros vía aér...
