They are sharing incidents of corruption in the police and find an incident of say a military person chasing a young person, edit it so you can't see the context, and p...

Re: Desmanes

Some Facts to consider: Transantiago received US $862 million dollars of state subsidy in 2018. The evasion rate remains at over 30% despite efforts to reduce it. The amount of the raise, $30, is less than US $0.05, - 5 cents, which buys virtually nothing these days. Students don't even pay anywher...

Re: Desmanes

I have been wanting to move away from santiago for awhile. Think I will finally do it when my lease is up. Any suggestions? I have always enjoyed La Serena. I also gave nothing hindering is from moving, other than the lease, but we might as well nice elsewhere if things get really nasty. Hopefully ...

Re: Immigration system collapse, October 2019 update

Both of our applications are for "visa temporaria", not for "permanencia definitiva". We've lived in Chile before, but we left the country at the 8th month of our temporary visas, which made us uneligible at the time to apply for permanent residency - it needs to be applied within the last 3 months...

I filed an information request with them through their "Contact us" form 10 days ago and they've answered me last afternoon. "Su solicitud Nro. Re: Immigration system collapse, October 2019 update

Yea, I have been waiting 13 months for my permanent residency to be approved. The worst part is that with an expired cedula you cannot sign a work contract or even renew your driver's license.

Re: Passport and visa info

Since you have a return ticket to England during that 4 month period it's unlikely they would deny entry but if you are really concerned, better to do as at46 says and renew it in Santiago. If that's not convenient and you're going to be in Buenos Aires you could also renew it there. Chilean intern...

Re: Just curious

It took about 15 months from when we applied till we got permanent residency. Just keep checking with extranjeria, they didn’t call us when ours was ready, we had to go in and find out. Wow that is a ridiculous amount of time! I am sure they will inform me through the website like with the temporar...
