Revalidation of US degree

Any engineers from the US that have had to revalidate their degree in order to work in Chile? What documents did you have to submit? There are a few that they ask for on the website that I have no clue how to get, or that just do not exist in the US. Thanks in advance!

Re: Alternative to investment visa?

I also came to Chile originally with a student visa, but I applied for mine after entering as a tourist. The required documents include el certificado de matricula and el certificado de alumno regular. The second certificado is proving full time status as a student, which are not provided for diplom...

Re: Applying for Permanent Residency, Foreign Worker Ingresos selection

I would call the extranjeria and ask them what documents you need to submit. Believe it or not the call center was actually pretty helpful when I was applying for permanent residency 2 years ago.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

How much do you really think that mask is saving you from this - whatever "this' is? Most people I see wearing the mask have giant gaping holes in the sides, or they are not wearing it over their nose. I've read that most masks block 2% of the air flow. If a cough spreads over several aisles of a s...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I got into SCL Saturday am, pretty routine until we came up against a row of tables, forms with quarantine in red letters across them. Even the pen the girl used to write was red so I knew i was in trouble. I was ultimately escorted to an airport approved taxi stand where I was quoted 50,000 pesos ...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

only 3 months? Well look where things were 3 months ago versus now. Feb 6th... Agreed and my point exactly. The card is completely useless, so why make a big fuss about it? On the other hand, the reluctancy to declare full quarantine in RM might be the reason for the current situation where +80% of...

Re: Notarizing Bank Statements

That’s what I thought based on research. But the lady that called assured that it needed to be notarized, legalized or something similar. We are applying to this visa showing proof or land purchase, vehicle purchase in the country, as well as our bank as statements with sufficient funds to live, bu...

I chose the one that gave me a larger tax return.
That's what I want to do, if it doesn't affect my basic healthcare coverage. The AFP is worse than useless for me, so opting for less of that's a no-brainer.
In my case I have ISAPRE so I did not want to pay for healthcare twice.

Re: Permanencia Definitiva Background Check Translated?

Admin is 100% correct they have essentially weeded out a lot of people from applying for permanencia definitiva. For example I am from the states and to get the FBI background check and apostille it within their time frame is kind of tight and hard to do without shelling out a lot of money. Below i...
