They were in chile for 9 months on tourist visas then got a worker visa for 1 year and just completed...

Re: What is Israël’s project in Argentina?

I have heard about this, but I thought it was mostly discredited. Supposedly Israel has a plan B in case the arabs run them out of the promised land...and that is to create Israel v2 in some portion of Patagonia. It seems crazy, but yeah even I have seen a lot of the Israeli "tourists" coming down i...

Given those options, I would choose to take care of my own money, lol
Well that wasn't one of the options...lol. But yes of course, stay away from counterparty risk as much as possible

And, there is good and bad in that. Juxtapose Chile's stringent banking policies with the U.S's whoreish banking policies that lead to the 2008 financial meltdown. Which is worse? lol...If I had to choose either an uptight Nun or a fastlane Whore to trust my money to....Hmm lemme think. I'd choose ...

Re: New Zealand to ban Foreign home buyers

I found this interesting: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-31/new-zealand-to-slap-home-buying-ban-on-foreigners-to-ease-market I know New Zealand is popular with super rich, but also the Chinese / North Asians (that tend to be super rich). New Zealand is famous as that 'end of the wo...

Re: New Zealand to ban Foreign home buyers

You can hide from ''geo-political risks of Northern Hemisphere'' but you can't hide from local criminals .....Chile has world class criminals. They are getting better and bolder.Wait until they learn about kidnappings from Colombians. World class criminals in Chile? Sounds like you have had some rea...

Re: South Africans

Also do you have savings you can live on for awhile? Is your husband able to work remotely for a south african company from here? Or if you have citi...

Something to consider is do you need to live in Santiago? Have you considered south of Santiago? If you live outside of Santiago, more in the country, you can get by quite easily on 2 million peso's a month. 500k-750k for a nice house to live in on acreage away from the soul crushing pollution of Sa...

Re: Chile Peso 2017, starts at 665.29

well, just comparing some historical charts, by my eye-ball estimate, the peso should be well below 600 to the dollar, relative to copper over 3.00 a pound. Pretty much where peso and copper was from about mid 2009 to to jan 2014. Now granted the run-up in copper has not proven to be sustained yet,...

Re: Bubble when to burst

I think it could still have quite a ways to go up. What it all comes down to is the status quo. If Admin can travel to Europe and come back here and be in tact...the status quo still prevails. If some of us can take a brief trip to the USSA and actually get back here, there status quo still prevails...
