Re: Owls in Southern Chile

Yes, we have a similar rule, animals welcome to hangout as long as they are not mean....but it is getting a bit out of hand. Poultry We have a small poultry population that we keep only for eggs. Well we hatched 6 eggs and got 5 boys and 1 female. Our kids ended up browbeating us into keeping the ma...

Re: Growing loss of services / access from some US banks

After struggling with text verifications...when I finally got the att phone back to Chile I almost couldn't believe how great it has been as you described. I too have been able to access various sites directly from Chile with YMMV. What bothered me most was that several sites began throwing exceptio...

Re: Growing loss of services / access from some US banks

Yes you are going to want to access US banks and really any US financial institution from a US IP address. It could be a vpn that you use at home and also use for accessing US based Netflix/Prime/Disney+ content but it could also just be a really cheap windows vm/vps in the cloud that you can remote...

Re: Foreign credit cards no longer work?

I have not used a credit card for point of sale in person at a store for a long time However I can confirm the Transbank shenanigans. I was trying to charge to a US amex in Santiago for a major purchase and even with AMEX on the line the transaction was not going through. They said they didnt even s...

Re: Constutional Congress Election

I nominate bikini models and professional comedians to write the constution. If a bunch of unqualified people are going to write the constution, they should at least be entertaining. say, what ever happened to that nice dog that wondered on to the floor of congress last year? Him too. Although he m...

It also surprised me how many nonresident voters there must be.
Remember, that is a new rule change as prior to the last Prez election, only those actually resident in Chile could vote.
Ah gotcha...may end up being quite the wildcard with these non-resident numbers

Multiply those two num...
