Re: Generator reccomndations

I'd recommend a Diesel generator that runs at around 1800RPM's. Those are the really good ones. The ones that run at higher RPM's don't have the long term reliability that the 1800 RPM's have. However most of the small portable generators aren't built to last and often run at the higher RPM's. Diese...

Masonry Fireplace - Glass Doors (ceramic glass)

I have a masonry fireplace. I tried to look into putting in a full blown Amesti or Bosca insert int the fireplace, but the damper/chimney uses a zig zag baffle so a tin heat pipe can't go up the chimney...so the insert idea is out. I don't want to start breaking up stone and brick for this That leav...

Re: is growing marijuana legal in Chile

The confusion about Chile and marijuana comes from a 2015 Chilean house bill that passed "In 2015, a bill allowing Chileans to grow up to six plants per home for "medical, recreational or spiritual reasons" passed the lower house of Congress, 68–39, and next goes to the Chilean Senate for vote" So i...

Re: giving away an old car

Good question, I was wondering along similar lines. Like if you have an old car and just want to donate it or get rid of it with as little fuss as possible. I know in the US someone will come and tow away donation cars. Sometimes they give you some money, sometimes you gotta give them some money but...

Re: Venezuela crisis

Apparently generator based Steak Houses are booming in VZ. However when it says "they serve a certain clientele"...yup we know exactly what that means! The polarization of the rich and poor is just accelerating https://www.bloombergquint.com/markets/in-the-great-blackout-caracas-steakhouses-are-busi...

I hear nothing from Russian intelligence nor from the Chinos...Intriguing indeed. Uh yeah exactly what I was thinking....pulling out the diplomats. Not for just...

Re: Worth Getting Citizenship?

well here is one for u.s. citizens, and everyone else for that matter. the u.s. goverment now has the power to adminstratively deny or cancel your passport for as little $50,000 u.s. in unpaid taxes or penalties. They have not used it much yet, but they will. just wait for it. and, basicaly if the ...

Re: Sugary food in chile

I rarely eat Chile salmon, it is all farmed toxic shit. I buy what I know is locally caught in San Antonio. Anyone with experience or basic knowledge can determine how fresh a fish is. Yeah , how about seafood? Could you tell if that had been caught in an area with marea roja? Has happened here the...

Re: Sugary food in chile

Most people are years behind in studying and applying the relationship between diet, nutrition and health. I buy very few packaged products but when I do, I know what is inside. The only decent additive free mustard and/or sauerkraut I have found is imported from Germany. Had to bring a lead free f...

Regarding ketchup, multiple Heinz ketchup products on the store shelf. One is made in Mexico and the others in the US. The US ones have HFCS while the Mexican made one sugar. Yes! I know it is darned confusing. Buying ketchup turns into a perry mason who dun it. My wife who is far sighted has the w...

Re: Sugary food in chile

I guess the "way mustard should taste" depends on what you are familiar with - and you can, as you say, get the one you like.. Some would prefer Coleman's. The Financial Times wasn't really writing about specific food but the labelling. Although I originally mocked those black labels, I now find th...
