What is considered the definitive authority on exchange rates ? Because, on the same screen witha Google search, I see 777 from Morningstar and 820 from XE. :shock:

    It seems that the local exchange houses are hedging their bets: normally I see a 10 peso spread (or less) .between buy and sell USD, but today it was 25.

    Golden opportunity getting CLP with USD...it hasnt been at these levels for several years and even then the median is several hundred CLP lower if you go back 20 years. Might even be twice as high as the median. Buying US import products with CLP is all time high levels of pain for business owners ...

    I just got back from a week in Santiago; there were a bunch of teenagers staying at the same hotel, part of the international Karate tournament, and the only hooligans in the bunch were: the Scots.

    I always wondered what model the United States was copying in recent years. :lol: Actually I have spoken to European visitors who strongly criticise Chile for its adoption of US "culture". :) So when will the US blow up socially? difference there is not as many will be throwing stones and molotovs,...
