Outside of a 401k that is totally invested in a Vanguard vehicle for retirement in like 25 years, I don't have investments and haven't ever done it before. I have done some reading but never dipped my toe in. I also don't have tons of funds. I have around 20k in a "high yield savings account" that ...

Re: America on Fire

What is strange to me is that it was just a few days ago it was all the anti-mask antilockdown protesters. Now that seems to have been suddenly and entirely replaced with this race/police protests. Maybe this is the transition event from cv to the next set of 24 hour news cycle fires. Not that the ...

Re: Pesos and Protests

Was following this link starting from the reopening of the fx markets on Sun 18.00 (it was firmly at 800.10 for the previous 48 hours). https://www.google.com/search?q=usd+clp+rate It was rising constantly at about 1 clp per hour and is now at 827.40 there. Right, that's exactly what I was looking ...

XE.com $1 usd = 820 clp
Rueters UK $1 usd = 792 clp
Oanda $1 usd = 799 clp
Transferwise $1 usd = 792 clp

So Transferwise is going with the lowest quoted rate. I'm going to check at a casa de cambio and see what they're offering.
So where the BFH is Morningstar getting it's 826???

technically what they are firing would be referred to as "buck shot". probably equivalent of like a number 2 or 3 buck shot, think they were about .8 mm , depending if you count the rubberized exterior (about 20% rubber coating). much smaller than a 00 buck shot. pretty similar to what would be use...

Re: The Economic Impact of the Social Crisis

so back to the economy. over the last couple weeks, as my wife and I have been to various restaurants in Frutillar that we frequent, we have noticed a serious increase in the prices. friend that has a steak house told us that his price of steak has gone up 30%, but also most of his other ingredient...
