Re: Irishtimes hatchet job on Chile

Sarcasm with 'dearest'. Indeed, we use this personal lament to thrive on the world stage.

Re: Irishtimes hatchet job on Chile

I actually had to look up the dictionary for some of the words in that article. Ended up having to read it twice. I do though agree with its reference to an inferiority complex. It seems innate in Ireland's pre-born 2000, including me at 47; given how kind our dearest neighbours treated us. But I do...

Re: Currencybird

Hi, was just wondering if anybody had used Currencybird to send money out of Chile to a Euro zone area? If so, did it work out ok?

Re: MOVING TO CHILE

It would be difficult to speak about such dog-ma and deg-radation of a country which from space, probably looks like a prostitute's leg kicking a high heel. Don't get me started you wuss.:-)

Big time Michael. Would be good to have another paddy around the place. I think I'm the only one in Valdiva.

Re: MOVING TO CHILE

Ha! Gloria, I seek any whisper of Irishness in anything. My bed has been made here in Chile and in it I will lie, but jaysus just gimme a glimpse or connatotion of my real home and I will drool. ps - could have had word-fun with your surname but decorum would have probably prohibited it.

Re: MOVING TO CHILE

I'm not sure from where you hail Shalcollins, but with an Irish 'Collins' surname I would gladly help best I can, albeit basic. Gloria is right though. You would kinda need to first check with your nearest Chilean embassy to see the procedure. If there is no Chilean embassy in your country, try next...

Re: Opening A Bank Account

Too much to read so apologies if I am being a bit lazy, but if I can pour any of my experience. I opened up an account with Corpbanca with just a temporary visa. Caveat..... It was a joint account with my Chilean missus' name as titular. So if you have someone of local birth, bob's your aunt and fan...

Re: Transferring money

Britkid, I could send and negotiate fees any amount before the cessation of their agreement with Chile. I spent a few weeks trying to eek out Transferwise's answer as to why their sudden lack of service. I was eventually left with something along the lines of "We are working on an agreement with Chi...
