176 people is a tiny drop in a barrel. Every Hatian in the country will be having their own experiences. Here in Villarrica I'd say over 95% of them are working which debunks the generalisation about bosses, skin colour and racism. I wonder at the actual make up of the 176. Included would be the men...

Been to the US twice and the only places in the world I've seen more abject poverty and beggars are in poor 3rd World countries. I won't be returning.

Such a different cat culture for some. All uncontrolled cats to me are feral, they're native animal and bird killers, millions daily all over the world. I can't count the number of times cat owners have told me their "dear kitty" doesn't kill birds, lizards or anything else they can get their teeth ...

There're probably already a million plus Chinese in alot of countries. The second most common language spoken in Australia is Mandarin Chinese. I might be wrong but I'm guessing it'd be similar in Canada and New Zealand.

Declared them twice and they didn't bother opening my luggage each time, must have an honest face. Last time the customs bloke was more interested in my Skype address, he wanted to practice his English with me.

Yep, keep paying the utilities and setting the rent aside somewhere so you can show come collection time you've done all that was possible in good faith until things were clarified. ie. You didn't take it as an opportunity to stitch anyone up. I can't say I've ever seen a lease/rent contract anywhe...
