Re: Chile 2017 Presidential Election

Some clear stats here: https://decidechile.cl/ Chile Vamos got majority for both the chamber of deputies and the senate. If I understand the difference scales at the bottom of the page correctly – all the old parties are bleeding votes like crazy. Also interesting stats by region: https://decidechil...

Re: Chile 2017 Presidential Election

Funny how Sanchez ignores the opinion polling results before elections. It looks like somebody forgot to poll millennials who are now killing Nueva Mayoría industry.

Ask if they take a notarized copy of your apartment rentals contract PLUS an utility bill in the name of your landlord that is showing on the contract, these two papers together.
Good idea, I was going to take a photo of his and mine IDs near the bill too.

Re: Address confirmation

What about a scan of your address on a bank statement? I just used that from Banco Estado to prove to LA County that I can't serve as a juror there. Should be good for most places, but International Brokers accept this kind of documents only from banks from the countries who are members of FATF . C...

Re: chile's migration crisis

The number of Haitians is currently about 1% of the country's population, and it will keep growing. We barely have Haitians down here because southern Chile is cold and lacks jobs. So it's more like 2-3% of RM and Greater Valpo population. Still, there are similar number for Latin American immigran...

Re: Address confirmation

Got redirected to a notary from the civil registry. :\

I also asked in PDI just because we were passing by and they also said that I should go to a notary or to junta de vecinos.

But my utility bills have my landlord's name.
Even your cell phone? Sometimes they accept a notarized rental contract.
Hm, I don't have cell phone bills on Virgin.

Thanks for the link, there's the tab "Certificado para extranjeros" which leads to a page about getting a certificate in PDI:

Address confirmation

Online financial and other services often request some utility bill or a document from the government to confirm the address. But my utility bills have my landlord's name. What's a good place to quickly get some fancy government paper with a stamp and my address on them? PDI or Extranjería come to m...

Re: working remotely

Oh, so it could be $500 rent/investment passive income and $3000/mo work-related income. Sounds really nice, thanks!

Before vs. now, what period of time are you talking about? The rentista requirements on the extranjeria website haven't changed in the last few year from what I can see: a proof of periodic income.
They changed in the beginnig of 2016: now the income must be passive and not work-related.
