Re: New member, but "old" reader

Putin is promising Russian IT genre that they pretty soon they will be earning US$100K plus a year if developi...

So you going for a Mazda instead of Toyota Corolla? Last time in Russia, every Russian I met he/her wishes for a car purchase brand and series of a car to hope/dream of buying came as Toyota Corolla.
I wish Chile was covered with railroads and then I would never have to drive a car.

Re: The trade wars, they have begun

I dont know what the exact stats are, but they are probably pretty close to this. Truly technicaly minded people per 100, 000 of population something like say 10000 people. Amongst them, number of people that have the motive and opertunity in chile, say 10% so 1000 people. Mpst of those will be dra...

Re: The trade wars, they have begun

There is a passionate and professional circle of Chilean developers but it’s really small because of the country’s population and broken education system. Argentina and Brazil are much more visible as “IT hubs...

Chile wants turn Chile into a "tech hub" and reduce dependence on copper.
Chilean governments have been saying this for decades.

Tech hubs require affordable education, meritocracy instead of classism, and risk-friendly venture investors. The country has none of this.
