Too good to be true. You have to be a full permanent resident still. In which case, you could get a regular checking account. perhaps if you do not have any way to prove income it might be useful. No bank in Chile will let you open a cuenta corriente without permanent residency and chilean source o...

Re: The Chile Economy, Social Crisis and Virus Impact

So far about 7 million people have requested the 10% withdrawal from their AFPs and they are reporting about a 5% rejection rate. One of those rejected was my wife because her carnet was expired. The Bank just issued a comunicado indicating that from next week it will buy up local bonds with a limit of US$10 billion. https://www.bcentral.cl/contenido/-/detalle/comunicado-del-...

Chile is flattening the curve, one way Canada has done it is keep the border with the US closed, we just got another 30 days..... Now Canada is in test and trace mode. I'm not sure about flattening, the excess death curve looks more like a downward slope now: Chile.jpg https://www.ft.com/content/a2...

Re: Housing market situation

Yep, but I took the main point of the article as that there are many of these people who have completely overextended themselves a couple of years before the worst financial/economic crisis this country will see since the early 80's. Once they all start liquidating, well, you know the story.
