Re: chile's migration crisis

Hey, this is not new formula for the left at all. They have used this for years. The socialist party mayor in our town, took central government money, built low income housing. Guess who he put in the low income housing? A bunch of criminals from Santiago that would vote for him. He won elections th...

Re: chile's migration crisis

And I love the way they call them "irregular", not "illegal". If you are foreigner inside Chile, with no identification, you are a criminal by definition. It is illegal to enter the country without ID. It is illegal to be in the country without ID. That does not even begin to scratch all the violat...

Re: chile's migration crisis

In 5 years they will be able to vote. Latam was recently fined, because they flew a syrian, using a Brazilian passport, in to New Zealand. Some idiot at the airport, ran names until the computer system did not have a block on the person entering New Zealand. I guess that was like the third time. htt...

Re: chile's migration crisis

The comments on that article are growing fast, and none of them are friendly to Bachelet and the left.

Immigration problem? We don't have a problem with immigration?

That is literally what the administration has been saying. Everything is organized and under control now they claim.

Re: Chile 2017 Presidential Election

Which I am sort of seeing a trend among friends and contacts. They either are going in to vote for Pinera, not voting at all. A few are casting something like a protest vote for someone with no chance of winning, either extrem right or left.

Re: chile's migration crisis

Well, been waiting for this other shoe to drop. Here comes the "immigration association" to ask Bachelet to just give residency to 200,000 illegal immigrants, she let in. http://www.latercera.com/noticia/solicitan-al-gobierno-amnistia-200-mil-inmigrantes/ What do you want to bet she sneaks this in b...

Re: Chile 2017 Presidential Election

Have you ever heard the saying, "no one every got fired for selling at a profit"? That pretty much sums up my reason for disliking professional stock brokers. Their motive is to make commissions and not get fired. My motive is to make money and retire, while paying them as little as possible. So, to...

Re: Chile 2017 Presidential Election

From EMOL : Chilean shares face their day of reckoning prior to elections. According to Bloomberg, the 20% IPSA rise since Piñera announced his candidacy cannot be justified by company profitability, in fact profits have declined by an average of 17% this year. So its a bubble. Already share values...

Re: Chile 2017 Presidential Election

I am not sure it is was related, and I can not put my finger on it, but there has been some very odd stock moves in the Chilean market without any real news to drive it (at least that I can find). I was sort of writing it off as pre-election stock market jidders (always good for some deals), but the...
