Re: Accessing AFP funds from abroad

One thing to look out for is before submitting, make sure that it doesn’t default to Cuenta 2. My wife submitted her’s and this is what happened. Whether or not this was deliberate she hasn’t been able to tell, but it’s caused a huge problem with accessing the funds. She couriered over a letter of p...

She’s called them and they’ve said someone will ring her back but we’re not holding our breath....I still don’t really understand what the cuenta 2 means and if the ...

Re: Accessing AFP funds from abroad

Thanks! She just got the million, wasn’t too arduous in the end. Does anyone know if , under the rules of the second withdrawal coming up, she can withdraw her last million?

Re: Looking for apartment in Santiago

Yeah I kind of thought that might be the case now, I can't imagine there's a huge demand at the moment.

As a matter of interest, is it necessary/advisable for a lease agreement to be signed in a public notary? Or is it normal to sign a copy supplied by the agent outside of a notary?

I was able to lease an apartment in Santiago for a half year with cash up front and no proof of income. It's definitely doable.
Was that with a corredor? Would you have their contact details?

Re: Quarentines and fines

It’s a tough one, he has to be out of his present accommodation in the next few days and has nowhere else to go. Even the Airbnbs appear to all be in the quarantine zones

Re: Quarentines and fines

Hi All
A family member is moving into an apartment in Santiago communa at the weekend (I know, great timing). . I’m finding it hard to get details of the quarantine, if he’ll be able to move, he’ll need to buy a few things for the new place, etc.....does anyone know how strict the lockdown might be?

Re: Looking for apartment in Santiago

Cheers for that - pm sent. Another question, if you break a lease in Chile, are you liable for the rent for the remaining time? Also, if you have an Aval, do they become liable?

Thanks again

A family member is looking for a one bedroom/studio/ granny flat apartment in Santiago, preferably nunoa or providencia area. He’s seen a few decent ones but he’s just arrived in Chile recently and works online so doesn’t have the necessary papers. He has Chilean nationality. Would anyone have any s...
