eletric cars only in santiago
Electric public transportation - trams, trolley-buses, maybe electric buses of all sizes - and making car ownership insanely expensive, that's what's doable now and should be done.

Alternatively, I should just stop examining the contents of my vacuum cleaner bag.

Re: Irishtimes hatchet job on Chile

Talking about Chilean movies, that's one area where I can see Chilean producers intentionally picking out the worst of the worst of things here and magnifying them to the point of making Chile a completely unrecognizable little hellhole. And yet, that's what sells internationally. I guess the world ...

Re: Bringing spices back to Chile

Food in Chile is so tasteless... Learn how to cook and your life will change forever. Ingredients you get at the ferias here are pretty awesome, and Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Arabic ingredients are available in Santiago. So so true. My first paradigm shift was on cooking steaks...just p...

Re: The trade wars, they have begun

Come on? Ford and gm should have been put down 2008 (at least gm). They have been producing crap for decades, and living on their reputation from their 1950's /60's glory days, back when almost no one else had a auto industry to compete. Ford has all the signs of a company in trouble with the despe...

Re: The trade wars, they have begun

The cars entering the US aren't Canuckmobiles they are Fords and GMs, good way to hurt US companies, as far as I'm concerned destroy the Canadain auto industry, it won't hurt anyone west of central Ontario. We can then drop the 20-30% tariffs on EU and Asian cars which is all I buy, oh and slap 50%...

Re: Hi from Cape Town

Hi there! I recently moved to Chile, less than a month ago, and I'll be hanging around till January :) A little bit of myself, I was an exchange student from South Africa 10 years ago in Santiago, and working for the same organisation now as an intern, and staying again with my lovely Chilean famil...

Re: Bringing spices back to Chile

It also takes time - maybe about a year or two - to get used to the food here, as well as anywhere else. As your taste buds adjust, you start appreciating it a lot more. And since the nutrient content here is a lot better than, say, in Canada, your diet changes. For example, I've stopped drinking wi...

Re: Can you afford to live in Chile????

Would one European salary be enough for two people to live in Chile? If we come there with my girlfriend, we'll be able to work from afar and earn the equivalent of 1500€ a month, or something like 1.1 million pesos a month. Would it be realistic for both of us to live on that income, including ren...

Re: Buying a car for 12mil without a bank account

Any supporters for Toyota Rav4 ? As a guy who owned a lot of Toyota transportation devices in my life, I'd give this intimate piece of advice to anyone considering it: get yourself a good German-made men's multivitamin first and start taking it on a daily basis. I promise you, in about two weeks ti...
