Re: Accessing AFP funds from abroad
This could refer to the APV account which is another account with the AFP but on a voluntary basis ie you can withdraw it whenever you want. I know people who have moved their retiro to their APV so that it stays in their pension fund but if they want to withdraw it later they can (or so they are to...

Re: New mandatory quartine requirements for all travelers (developing)
The new “U.K.” strain has been found in a sample from Germany from November now anyway so as a lot of people have already predicted, this ripper is going to be already everywhere. Still I’d keep the U.K. specific restrictions because we’re hitting new lows in terms of case numbers and hospitalisatio...

Re: Accessing AFP funds from abroad
My understanding of the rules is that she can now get the other million out. If you leave your account completely cleared out, that isn’t a problem. Apologies in advance for hijacking your thread but since my query is related- I’ve been trying to help my sister clear out her AFP since the first reti...

Re: Second AFP withdrawal
I’m the first to agree there is way too much short term thinking going on in Chile. However anyone who relies solely on their AFP for their retirement is already screwed let’s be honest, imagine if your monthly income in retirement went down from $140K to $120K... yeah it’s 20,000 pesos but you were...

Mine is Don Peyo in Ñuñoa, street is Lo Encalada near Crescente Errazuriz... a bit hard to find because it doesn’t have a sign and just looks like a house but there are always loads of cars outside. My dish to order is pastel de choclo but that’s because I live outside of Chile now so I miss that on...

The alternative is a painful day or 2 spent at various addresses in the centre going back and forth between various offices getting stamps and just when you think you are done its go to agustinas 123456789 and pay 511 pesos and get another stamp, a race against time to get it all done by 2pm or you ...

Zenth that will be of little comfort to them since they made History classes an optional part of the high school curriculum
not too many history teaching jobs being advertised at the moment...

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019
I’m headed to SCL tomorrow on a standby flight and I just checked how many spaces there are on the plane to see how likely I am to travel or whether I will have to wait.. the Bogotá to Santiago leg has 70 cupos!! Usually there are just 2 or 3... so I will definitely get to travel but the question is...

Haha it’s like if you fly premium economy. Instead of pollo o pasta you get a menu giving you a choice of pasta a la balls bla or chicken au bla bla. When I first saw it I couldn’t believe people fall for this kind of crap and think they are getting a higher quality service .

I just try to remember they are on a ridiculous power trip because they were probably on a receiving end of a ridiculous power trip from their supervisor or whatever earlier that day. Applies especially to “security guards” in supermarkets, pharmacies etc. but definitely to anyone in PDI.

I thought they were great in every way compared to Iberia !!! Maybe my memory is being slightly selective or just failing. LAN never ever hung up the phone on me, refused to look at me and continue filing their nails whilst attending me at a counter, or my favourite one at Barajas airport connection...
