Re: US cell phone use

Have you thought of downloading Whatsapp? If you are in Facebook get the messenger for smartphone or Skype....all free! There are also phones (called open) with dual sim card from Blue company sold in Walmart. Lots of possibilities. I talk and see my loved ones in the US for hours!

Re: Where in Santiago was this scene shot?

I doubt this shot was taken in Santiago. Usually the well known chilean word PICO gets written on walls. :D

Re: CHILE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY A TORTURE CHAMBER

It is slow food, admin. Takes hours on a grill for the sausage, little less time for the chicken and even less time for the shellfish. Most restaurants will not take the time to do this for just one or two people. There is a "paella" restaurant in el centro, Santiago but their sausage was dried out...

Re: CHILE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY A TORTURE CHAMBER

Gloria, where do you go for your paella or are you able to kill the shellfish and make your own? I don't eat out, all is done at home. I cook every single day with fresh ingredients. Husband don't care for seafood so I don't make paella.....I love it though. If I'm able to kill shellfish? For sure,...

Re: CHILE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY A TORTURE CHAMBER

Try paella de verduras and consider yourself no longer a hypocrit. Vegans save the world again. :D Paella de verduras? Consider yourself lucky that you live in Chile. If you were in Spain, it would be insulting....paella is what it is because of the different ingredients from land to sea........"pa...

Re: Chileans travelling on non Chilean passport

Gloria - the thought did cross my mind to suggest not registering her as Chilean but since my main reason would have been to save the 100USD passport fee every 5 years it wouldn’t have gone down well with my wife  :thumright: might as well. Chilean passport cost about US$ 190.00 and only lasts...

Re: Chileans travelling on non Chilean passport

If your daughter was born in the UK, it´s not necessary to get her a chilean passport unless she was naturalized as a chilean. I have dual citizenship, so when I travel I use my chilean passport when I leave and enter Chile and US passport when I enter and leave the US. You said...." the guy in the ...

Well, that was Bachelet policy for now. We´ll see what "the new sheriff in town" will do about the situation. I´m still hopeful.

Re: anyone use fonasa ?

thanks for your replies. I forgot to mention that we are retired, so naturally, premiums are higher. We arent looking to have a high coverage, but are rather looking at it from the angle that if we are having to pay 30% with an Isapre costing us US$4000 a year, we could be better off by paying say ...

Re: chile's migration crisis

My question is, why countries with some fair economy have to be forced to accept unskilled illegal immigrants from shitty countries? Not all chileans are happy about this situation and many keep hush-hush to avoid been labelled "racist". Pino must be turning in his grave for sure!

Re: anyone use fonasa ?

We had a very positive experience with Fonasa last year. Husband had a hernia operation at Clínica Alemana. Fonasa paid apprx 80 %. Semi private room. Excellent doctor, well taken care of and no complications whatsoever.
