Let's just make sure our guns are unloaded and the ammo stored away before we start bending our elbows. Loaded guns and alcohol don't mix.

Now that we've established that the natural, unalienable right to self-defense exists everywhere on the face of the earth, and that shotguns are allowed under a formal permitting process in Chile, I have a couple of questions: are 12 gauge pump action shotguns allowed and are .22 rimfire pump action rifles allowed? I have a real nice Winchester Model 12 and a Rossi knock-off of a Winchester Model 62 I would like to bring in under the permitting process eventually.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!
I will end my participation in this discussion by saying "fire in the hole"

Yes, that's right - some folks are squeamish about practical self-defense just like some folks are squeamish about getting a root canal, both of which are necessary and sufficient in order to preclude an even worst set of circumstances.

"Danger - if you meet it promptly and without flinching - you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!" -Winston Churchill

Of course the ultimate defense is vigilance and steering clear of trouble, however when it flares up one must take responsibility.

Hahaha, Agent, you just wrote what I figured would be a post for another day, after the dust has settled so to speak.

ok, this flame war is burning out. I am sure if anyone wants to continue, they have a live one over at the NRA forum.

This dog seems fairly well beaten. I thought it would be a nice social experiment to let you guys go and see just how far a flame thread could burn. Seems the current burn rate on hot political topics is about 5 pages a day, if it is sufficiently controversial.

What's next?
Anyone up for abortion, religion, same sex marriage?
