you might want to contact spencer global and ge the mess cleaned up , you might even find it as simple as going down to registro civil with the right documents!

“en tramite” just means in process, you get a piece of paper saying you have applied for you paper/citizenship or whatever so you are not at that time under the obligations of a tourist visa/temporary visa or whatever.

Take a look at the link above, it tells you what you need to do. Since you applied outside the country, get the documents and apply in the country you may get two citizenships When you make application they give you a paper saying you have applied (en tramite), keep it with your passport.

Gotcha, thanks guys. I'm still going to head to Montevideo anyway because I've already purchased my ticket. However, from the looks of it this will be my only 90 day trip.
