Howdy

Postby LastGryphon » Tue Jul 03, 2007 12:16 am

It has been a few weeks since I registered on this forum. Just now getting around to the intro. Sorry.

I live in Bellingham, Washington, USA. I am nearing retirement and my wife and I are considering at least a part-time relocation to Chile. Possibly the Valdivia area, but yet TBD.

I was in Chile this last March for two weeks. I hope for another trip this November.

My wife is involved with TESL and international students. I have built race cars, sailboats, airplanes, and space station and satellite components. Also skippered yachts, done mechanical testing, worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Boeing, among others; and several other occupations along the way. Now I am an acupressure practitioner.

I am just here to gather as much information as I can.

Cheers

Pleased to make your aquaintence albeit in this manner, at least for now! What kind of cars did you work on?
We have my late Father's hand built car from 1952, it has some very interesting history for never having been raced.
It was built for road racing and a Pikes Peak hill climb car to be driven by Jerry Unser who sadly died later at Indy.
The car weighs 1800lbs. 500 HP at the crank and inboard disc breaks and torsion bar suspension, a Halibrand quick change rear end and wheels. It breaks my heart to leave it in the states, I hope we can put it in a museum in Chile.
Thanks for listening to me babble on so.
