searching for old thread

Postby Rhodolite » Sat Jul 28, 2012 12:09 pm

Hello.
I am revisiting my fantasy of internet at home (rural, foothills, valley) and trying to find a thread with a photo of an antenna and the words:

"Instead, most of those who want internet have one of these: an antenna for a shot to a service provider about 5 km away. It's somewhere around 45000 CLP a month."

I think It came from a thread about providing internet for tourist customers.

Thanks in advance.

jsut give us your rough location and someone will know the service, far better than searching, each location has different services...., i you live in a valley that doesnt have a antenna on the top of the hill, your out of luck, if you can get 3g on your phone you could just get a 3g wireless router...

anyone location?

Teno east. Entel is the only carrier with a semblance of a signal. Max signal strength is three bars, usually not even that. With the iPad the service is Entel E ... I suppose that is for EDGE. Purchased Wilson electronics 841262 booster antenna in Stgo but there is no improvement. The thread I'm trying to find addressed using a yagi antenna with a booster.

I don't know what point to point wireless means but I am ready to learn. What I would like is a strong cell phone signal at home and internet to include web sites opening, photos downloading and even ... music while surfing the web.

Thank you. We will order today or Monday if they require a bank deposit. I'm simultaneously hopeful and doubtful; in Feb. 2010 a tech installed a yagi with no improvement. There are two additional Entel antennas now, and we have newer equipment. So maybe...

you will need to get a chip to install the router.... good thing is you can buy a prepaid chip from each compahy and find out what one is the best,

also you will need to use the signal meter to get the yargi poingting the right direction
