What do people do?

Postby Brian01 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 1:08 pm

Hi there, I'm British and have been here for about 7 months and haven't been able to find many opportunities work wise. I was wondering what most of the ex pats that use this site do for work? I'm not really looking for advice of what I can do more a picture of what other ex pats do. Thanks.

Wine and beer industries including microbreweries. Real estate development projects. Specialty construction. Sedition. Forestry and agricultural management and related technical services. Financial services. Environmental damage remediation. Bartendering. Aircraft industry support. Lobbying of malleable Chilean government officials to permit introduction of genetically modified crops and food. And other stuff.

Run a forum, where others can ask what others do.

If you do not have a set of very portable skills, there is not much for a foreigner in terms of work in Chile. That is essentially true in any country now, but especially Chile. A pile of academic credentials with a 1,000 pesos, might buy you a cup of Noescafe; but, not much else.
