Looking for a job in Chile without diploma

Postby roman073 » Sat Jun 23, 2012 8:33 pm

Hi All,
We are a couple looking for jobs in Chile. We dont have our diplomas with us and are here for a month now with a tourist visa. We found out recently that we had to legalize our diplomas before to live, unfortunately it is now too late for us...
Would you know what are our options in this situation? We both have experience and had qualified jobs in the past. We are now going to interviews for jobs offers but are not sure what we will need to show when the time to ask for a visa will come.

Many thanks for your help.

On the subject to contract visa, if you dont state you have a degree/diploma, there is absolutely no need for these certs to get the visa...

To get a visa “subject to contract” you don’t need your diploma for the visa (the emplyorer may want to see a copy, but ususlly you don’t need it legallized), to get a “professional” visa you need your diploma legalized.

Some employers want you to have your “professional” visa so they don’t need to any work hiring you.
It's all about the wine.

Many thanks for your answers. I had some changes since my last post, I now have my diploma certified and stamped by the Chilean minister of foreign affairs, however I am still looking for a job and many companies don't want to hire me because I don't have the professional visa yet. Is there anyway to ask for the visa without a contract? As well, I understood that the visa processing can take a while, is there a possibility to start working before the visa is issued? I know these questions were asked in other posts but I still get confused... Thanks for your help!

Or read the Extranjería site. You won't make it here if you can't work up a little mental sweat, use search and evaluate info from official to anecdotal sources. May sound like assholishness but it is necessary tough love which you will understand and be thankful for as time goes on. :|

Or, you can pay someone to do all the work, see below.
