Travel Insurance - who do you use?

Hello guys

Going to Chile next week for 6 weeks, am about to arrange travel insurance, any recommendations at all :-)

The usual practice is to obtain travel insurance (including medical coverage) in the country where you reside.

I wasnt clear, I was wondering who any people who visit Chile and other countries use, from the UK

I used to use STA, even though I wasn't either a student or a young adult. i only claimed once, and that was for volcano-associated missed flights.

Thanks Fish, the price blows them right out of the water at $189 compared to £25 here in the UK with a main insurer.

A lot will depend on your age, try Christine Spiers, Delta Travel Insurance, Tel: 01304 361609
or Staysure 08446928444. In previous years I've used InsurandGo.
I'm over 70 so now have different problems with long holidays !!

i use world nomads once.... never again

Warning, make sure your insurance policy covers translation of documents related to medical claims......

some places will only take them in english, and require you get the translation at your cost!!!!

Hi Baz

Called Christine and got a price of £76 for annual (exluding US and Canada) this is for 35 days (4 more than std policies) and with a tendon issue (declared)

The search continues :-)
