New Rule, due to people registering and stalking users in the Private Message system.

YOU MUST POST TO THE PUPLIC FORUM AT LEAST ONCE IN THE FIRST WEEK, OR YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE CLOSED.

It can be as simple as "Hi, new user checking in". We prefer that you introduce yourself a bit, and firmly establish you are here. You do not need to participate in anything else, just check in and let us know you are not a spammer or other bad thing.

That means no more accounts with zero posts. All accounts over a week old, that have registered and never posted, are subject to being deleted at any time.

I use to regullarly go through and purge old registered accounts, with zero posts because spammers use them. Typically anything over a month or two old. Now I am seeing an inherient danager in allowing people to register and never establish a public reputation on the forum.

Hello, Admin and greetings from the foothills of the Andes, Maule Region. I've been reading this forum, on and off, since before Gloria left the U.S. but never had anything to contribute until last week. Although appears that was a waste of time as OP continues to seek a different conclusion. I continue to read because of helpful ideas for expat navigation in Chile but especially to see in print, courtesy of Px, the things I THINK.

This is a bump. From now on all accounts need to have at least 1 post in the first 7 days after registration or they they will be purged.

I just dumped a hundred spammers with 0 posts (i.e. ip addresses from asia, email addresses that are obviously spam related, and so on). If you are a real person, check in to keep your account functioning after you register.

Not really, I've been here for some years already, but my account went south recently, although not really, when I tried to use my old account name it says already used?? So here I are, still, under a new user name, but it's all good(ish). Glad to meet you all again.

I am new to this site, and I was adopted from Conchali, Chile. I am in frequent contact with my mother's side of my family, but I wish to find my father. All I know about him is his name, and I have an ongoing case with SENAME. However, there have been no results as of yet. I decided I would try to search for him myself, and that is why I am here. I hope to find like-minded people to assist me in my search. Thank you.

Follower of this forum for a while now. I was born in Chile, and raised in the States. I am considering going back to my home country to contribute. It made me happy to find this forum as it pertains to all things Chilean. I have to add chilean food is best homemade. Sopapillas, cazuela de pollo, bistec con papas mayo.... etcera.

I thought this forum was troll friendly, although now new trolls must deceive with courtesy before courteously deceive without courtesy.

I am a new mexican observing and learning on this site for last couple of years. I have been trying to get down to Chile for several years and it looks like i will be able to pull it off finally this june with my family.
