This agreement, then, I think, also means that you wash your hands of any connection to the problem that you have fled from. That it is now the problem of someone else. That you do not belong to a community which could effectively work to object.
For Andres, I think, you have fled from the evils of the United States. And then you fled from the growing evils of Australia. How long can we go on fleeing from evil, before we must confront it?
I do not wish to insult you personally, so please forgive any appearance of that. Perhaps your situation is just conveniently symbolic.
I do sense a flaw in the philosophy of flight before successive waves of governments that are doing wrong, as we saw in the history of Europe in the 1930s. We will move from Germany to Poland. From Poland to Paris. From Paris to .... Dunkirk. From Dunkirk to England. And you know the rest. Soon enough, all of Europe is under the steel hand of oppression, because there was little will do what was morally necessary, to confront evil when it could have been contained.
I see nobody saying, we will not allow this wave of wrong to continue, we will fight this from wherever we are, in every form in which it is made manifest, we will fight from within the systems and we will fight as outsiders from far away. Nobody has to reveal openly how they are struggling in effective opposition, since that would be foolish.
Instead, I am only seeing members thinking, "bugger all, not my problem, Jack, here have another beer while you hide out." They are really saying, "I have surrendured." Or more simply, "I have given up." Such people should admit to being selfish and morally defeated, because they will do nothing to even slow the tide and spread of increasingly worse governments. They sit around in a little forum club and say, boy, am I clever that I escaped and found a way to continue to receive my pension and benefits.... from the fascist countries.
