Im saying DONT FED EX GOLD TO CHILE WITHOUT RESEARCHING AND BEING FAMILIAR WITH CHILEAN IMPORT PROCEDURES!!!!!!!

ANYONE READING THIS, THIS IS MY WARNING; DONT FED EX GOLD TO CHILE UNLESS YOU PREPARED TO DEAL WITH THE PAPERWORK AND TAXES!!!!

as admin says many of times, someone puts something simple like "fed ex gold to chile" on the forum, takes one person to think its that simple and ends up in a sorry sob story involving specialist to sort the mess out and costing the person lots of money!

Relax, i never said, or intimated, 'ship gold to Chile'. And yes, anywhere you ship anything cross boarder, you need to know what you are doing. In order to prevent obscuring the original comment i made, as said, it was to ship the AU to Kitco, as a helpful suggestion. That's Kitco in Canada.

Don't bring gold to Chile, and I concur wholeheartedly with zer0nz on this:

- at best bureaucratic hassle and cost, at worst running foul of some regulation
- storage in Chile
- no possibility to sell, so if you want to cash it, you must take it out of the country
- for the scenario when you really need it, you may not be able / allowed to take it out of the country

Nothing wrong with owning some physical gold, just store it somewhere else.
