They're looking for honey. Any flat-topped jar looks like honey on the x-ray machine, and once the SAG people can see that it's hair-conditioner, vegemite, marmite or anything else other than honey they're perfectly happy. In my experience the SAG / customs people not only speak English but have a good grasp of international geo-agricultural issues; I was asked a few years back if I wouldn't happen to have any potatoes in my suitcase by any chance
I always declare that I have foodstuffs coming in, even if it's just chocolate and coffee. Makes for no misunderstandings. I don't remember a place on the customs form where you declare you're over or under the limit though. There are no red and green channels in customs / SAG anyway, everything gets checked.
@Zer0nz, do you really want to bring in beer? If something goes wrong in the transportation, like a can or bottle rupturing with the pressure difference on the plane, the consequences will be very messy.
