Hi Jessica,

The city is in the southeastern corner of Missouri on the border with Arkansas and close to Tennessee. Sorry I misspelt the city it is AR Bird. I would appreciate any help, is Missouri considered part of the Bible Belt? thanks Jessica

Misery. Lesse, mmmmm, lotsa meth and tweakers. Raw down & dirty local politics. A nice assortment of Aryan Nations & Dual Seedline Identity Christianity types, (Googoo it) Lots of Cro-Mag local "law" enforcement, many (most) who are dirty. As in if not actually dealing drugs on the take to look the other way. Good luck. It's called fly over country for a reason.

But on the plus side a lot of authentic Mexican restaurants where you can if need be practice your Spanish.

I'd have to question your sanity if you are seriously considering living in Missouri. It would be crazier by far than living in Patagonia somewhere and that is pretty nuts.

Sheesh already. Taking advice from people on this forum about living in the US would be like asking the local imam about converting to Catholicism. Seriously.

The locals pronounce the name of that state "Misery" for a reason. Hotter than the hubs of hell in the summer and you need to keep a scoop shovel next to the front door (on the inside) during the winter to shovel your way out in the morning. When I lived there as a kid the most popular bumper sticker was "If you can read this you are probably from another state." This info is 50 years out of date so is probably not relevant but my God you will die from the humidity in the summer. :D

I had the misfortune to spend three months there when I was in the USAF. Felt like three years. I'd say my analysis, while a couple decades old is substantially correct.

Well I am certainly more familiar with southwest Missouri (and btw they pronounce it mizz ur ee, not misery) it is probably a pretty uninteresting place. It is definitely part of the bible belt. In the towns in that area the people will be very friendly and hospitable, but in the rural parts they will be untrusting of newbies and you will possibly find some KKK groups around there. The weather will not be predictable, it can go from hot and clear blue skies to thunder heads and cold wind in 2 minutes. One day it may be snowing, the next day it could be in the 70's. It is prone to tornadoes. Unfortunately it is too far east to be in the beautiful Ozarks area so it is most likely planes. It is very very humid in the summer which is fine for me but others don't like it. I would imagine living in the rural area there will be pretty boring with not much to do for fun except maybe go to a bar that has been set up in a converted trailer or shoot bottles off a fence with a shotgun. There will be lots of lakes to go fishing in and lots of hunting in the area if that appeals to you.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.
