Good Food In Santiago

Whenever I find a gem I will share, please reciprocate.

Cafe Melba - across from Parque Arauco next to BBV. :D Fresh bagels :D Breakfast all day :D Really good coffee.
Rishtedar - across from the Santiago Community Church. Indian food that has not been dulled down to local tastes. They even give you a "heat" range to choose from for your meals.
La Chocalatine- across from McDonalds on Vitacura. Authentic French bakery/cafe. Great variety of fresh baked breads, real croissants and good quiche.
We agree to disagree.

I tried the new Majestic in Alto Las Condes the other day. It was not bad, if a bit expensive. When I ordered my rogan josh & a side dish the waiter said "picante?" and I replied "mientras mas picante mejor" (need to be emphatic). I'd say the result was perhaps on the hot side of medium, which was good enough. The lamb was also very decent. Thanks for the other recommendation, for my next visit...

have been a number of times there, your right with the expensive bit!, use to indian being fast food in NZ, cheap and high quality for take away! here no!

the hotest we have had tho was at the nasty dahli dahbar in providencia, its not a high quality place, but we asked for hot, and we go so hot we had to have it cooled down with cream... and we are use to hot food!
Plan N....... Back On track

Ah, a place to avoid -- also useful (sounds good for the story afterwards or following many beers though).

Como Agua Para Chocolate- just outside of Patio Bellavista. The ambience is great and the "aji relleno" was a great combo of spice and texture.
We agree to disagree.

My wife and I had lunch at Pasta e Basta on Av. Vitacura yesterday. The food was excellent (my wife had the Bella Ragusa and I had the risotto of the day) and so was the wine (Sauv. Blanc - Casillo Molina). The only drawback was that the espresso was just average.

ohhhh I definitely second Rishtedar! The food is excellent! The owners are Pakistani and the chefs are from Gabon so getting the real deal at this place. You can tell them to make it the real way and they definitely deliver. We like to go when we need a real treat since Chilean food is terrible :/ I'll give Chile avocados, wine and seafood but that's about it.
