Urgent Request for Help With a Dog

Postby gringalais » Fri Dec 30, 2011 8:01 pm

Next door to where my husband works a few days a week in La Cisterna, there is a dog that is taken care of by one of the employees of the Junta Electoral . She is retiring and the Junta Electoral is moving elsewhere, so no one can take care of the dog. There are plans to euthanize him if a home isn't found for him. We are at full capacity, 3 dogs, 4 cats and are not sure how another male dog would relate to ours.

We are getting this out to everyone we know in hopes of at least finding a temporary situation for him. We'd be willing to pay for food and to start his vaccines and would treat him with Frontline to assure no fleas/ticks before bringing him over, and then would work to find a permanent home.

If anyone can help, please send me a message. My husband has a picture on his phone, but has not been able to send it to me. He is small, probably maximum 10 kilos, short-haired, light brown/beige coloring. My husband says he has a very sweet personality and loves to play.

Yea, it is the season in suthern chile for the rotos from santiago to abandon their dogs in southern chile while on vacation. Friend this morning watched a car stop on the road and dump mom, dad, and three puppies. Of course we are all dog lovers, and they were promptly picked up.

They come down from santiago with the atitude they will have better life in the campo. Which onsome level is true. I would much prefer to be abandoned in frutillar myself, than some dumpy neighborhood of santiago.

Momof3 - thanks for your offer to get the word out. Unfortunately, my husband's cell phone died and he is on a crappy back-up phone, which is what he took the picture on. He has tried to e-mail it or send it to another phone to try and download it but nothing is working. He looks very much like one of our dogs, so I am uploading a photo of him to give you an idea. It is the brown one in the photo. The difference is that the other dog has slightly longer legs. He can't weigh more than 10-11 kilos.

Deleted attachment since I have real photos now.
