Welcome to the foro. What might be your interest in Chile? Perhaps bringing some degree of civilisation to the concept of food in this country?

You cook! You have no idea how many hearts you have just won over. Where in FL did you live? We just moved down from there this year .

Why, you could be like a traveling minstrel Ed... going from house to house, delighting us flavor-starved transplants with your culinary talent. :)
Use the forum search function to find some interesting threads pertaining to restaurants/food, if you've not yet.
Just curious, how is the job market for culinary school graduates now? Is the economic climate continuing to impact the restaurant industry, or has it leveled off?

I went to a popup dinner the other night in a loft downtown. 10 people $40,000 each 5 courses with wine pairs, very good, the chef is CIA trained and works in one of the big hotels. He gets clients through word of mouth. It was seafood based and Asian influenced. I think the food scene in Santiago is improving.

Popup is “the thing” these days, I know a chef who closed his restaurant in Vancouver because he can do 2 meals a week in his loft and make allot more than running a restaurant.
