There is a pretty basic principle, namely, "do no harm", that some folks are trying to follow [to the best of their understanding]. And when in doubt, sometimes it would be better to do nothing, rather than "something". Should a "caring soul" with "loving hands" offer you (or maybe your partner, spouse or a friend) to undergo such sort of medical treatment that the kitten is about to go through, I have serious doubts that anyone there would express their consent to be, say, "de-sexed" (even though it would lead them to a "better life"). Each "little kitten" is but a living being, like you and me, and no less than that. And should a new owner, after playing with it for a while, decide to simply dump it back into the street, not only the entire undertaking would be completely worthless, but also the animal would lose the integrity of their body, and the quality of their future cats life would be no longer the same (as it could possibly be otherwise).

I think we can take the 'de-sexing' debate off the table: neigbour has advised she is looking for a female cat rather then a male (even sin knackers!).
sorry not to have more positive news.

Hey Heaphy - thanks for trying!!

El gatito - I like your contribution to this search for a kittens home! It has delved into a philosophical level whilst at the same time considerably heightened the chances that a rigorous kitten-carer screening process will commence in the near future. There will always be more questions than agreed upon answers. I personally try to do what I think is the best and most positive option for me and the world around me (which I see as the same outcome) at any given moment in my life.... :D

Greg and Judy - I believe you - your cat looks VERY happy! :D

But is there anybody who doesn't? Please tell. All think they do "the best", no? The question is, whether their understanding of "the best" is the same, or not. Thus, the "outcome" of people's activities vary, regardless of their [supposedly] always doing "the best and most positive option". What is the kitten doing at the moment?

El Gatito - the kitten is living a happy life with a friend of mine who looks after cats.. we are still trying to find a good home... however, my friend told me that her son has fallen in love with "Leíto" (yes he now has a name!) because he is so affectionate and sweet and so it is quite possible he could live out a very happy and spoilt life there...
I'm not sure if your point or my point are the same. I am not sure if I know if every body is doing the best thing for themselves and others, do you know??... and I don't think that anyones idea of anything is exactly the same... we can continue with our philosophy 101 off the forum wall if you like!! :D
