We are getting space ready in our new house in Pisco Elqui to rent out over the next few months and
I don't have a problem with a dog (I just have to check with the "boss").

Entrada totalmente independiente.
Arriendo en base semanal a $120.000 y en base diario a $19.000

And what about Tom in Dichato, he has a cabaña with the most beautful view over the bay and is renting it out over the summer?!?!?!?

The size is a factor, of course, but we have always taken our dogs all the way to San Martin de los Andes in Argentina and the present one is a nervous traveler and tends to get carsick. But on the smooth highway they tend to relax. We stop every two hours for a short walk and water for her, every three to change driver and a coffee or cold drink for us (and another walk for her). You just have to accept that it takes longer to get where you are going. Now every time I open the car door she gets in and sits down.

yea, how well a dog travels is directly related to how much you travel with your dog.

Our dog goes everywhere with us and is happier in the car than the house. If we need to travel with her and can not find a place that will let dogs in, she is just fine spending the night in the car as long as she gets a regular walk. On long haul drives she will do an easy 4-6 hours without stopping if needed. I can't handle being in the car that long.

We typically have little problem convincing owners of cabins to let her in, and really selecting cabins when on the road is more about a place to park the car than the dog. I have as yet not had a real problem with anyone saying you can not take your dog in the cabin. You can typically size up the situation with how well taken care of the owner's dog is at the cabin.

One good place on the top end, more south of course, is the willow willow resort. They rent cabins near the big hotels, that sleep like 4-6 people. They are perfect for dogs, as there is some great forest walks around the area. The cabins are way cheaper than the hotel, but you still get access to all the stuff at the hotels. The hotel staff is too removed from management to care what you do to the place, and could really care less if you have a dog in your cabin.

We are working with him, he wont get into the boot, only way i can get him in the car is if we all sit int he back seat, then he feels left out so hops in, then i hop out and close the door, and start driving with the gf calming him down in the back,

problem is he is incredibly strong, fully developed boxer muscles!

i guess lots of practice!!!!!, we will get him there, he was a un trained chillean outside dog, now he live in an apartment without problems :)

That made me laugh! I can just see you all in the back seat.
Yes, we had a semi-wild adopted street dog used to roaming the dunes between Reñaca and Concón who adapted to living in a small flat in Providencia. As long as we promised a road trip in summer he was fine with it. A harness which clips into the seat belt thingy in the back seat is a good investment. We used to just clip the lead around a front seat belt anchor but once, driving through a small town in the south, we saw all the locals pointing at us and laughing. Turned around and no dog. He had jumped out the window when he saw another dog and was dangling by the lead down the side of the car. He was OK, no damage.
