Yes, on-line shopping is much less stressful plus generally cheaper, particularly when free shipping and avoidance of sales tax is taken into consideration. But, I can't help being saddened by the deleterious effect is has had/continues to have on "bricks and mortar" businesses on main streets (aka high streets) across the US. More importantly, this on-line shopping phenomenon (along with "big box" stores) has had a devastating effect on 'sense of community' in towns affected. For example, most independent book stores in the US have already gone out of business.

So, you have seen lots of big, successful independent bookstores throughout the country in Chile? People buying those titles that cost 3-4 times as much as they do via Amazon in Canada or the US? Met any Chileans who own more than three books?

I'm still searching! :)

Maybe that's the reason I haven't found any yet.
