Need House/Lodge to rent

Postby usercaleb » Wed Oct 12, 2011 1:14 am

Hey all

My mate and I are planning to fly to Chile and live there for 3 months to record an album. We need a place that is big enough and a place that it doesn't matter if we make too much noise.
I'm constantly reading up about new places and what not, but I would love your opinion or advice.

We don't mind where it is- preferably near wine country or up in the mountains.

Houses or lodges would be perfect.
Max. rent per week $200.

Thanks for taking a read.

Any info or advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Seems like an odd destination just for recording an album.

For US$200 per week, don't expect electricity or running water or proximity to public transportation.

Does your editing system have a way to remove the sounds of barking dogs? Every rental lodge and house in the countryside has a team of dogs that will bark for you, 24/7, for free.

As far as making noise, not to worry. In many places Chileans like to make enough noise to keep neighbours awake, but only until 4 am. Then the dogs take over.

Haha nice pic.

Yeah kinda of an odd destination to record an album, but it's something different. Not just that, I really want to experience the Chilean culture-the music, the people, mountains, the dancing etc.

Thanks for the advice < NO EMAIL > patagoniax.

To tell you the truth, it's going through a huge change at the moment, but this newest project that I am working on is going to be a funk/jungle/rock kinda feel.
I really want to take a lot in from the Chilean style music- Spanish guitars, salsa dancing etc.

Although my most recent record was acoustic rock pop. You can check it out here if you're interested: http://www.triplejunearthed.com/calebhalkett

Do you know of any good locations to rent house/lodge for the kind of thing I'll be using it for?

You might be best to look around pichelemu, or pucon, you will probably find some isolated cabañas with prices in your range........but warning, prices of cabañas from Xmas to the end of march will skyrocket in price to rent....
