I think a visa exists for Church missionaries. See Te-5 here: http://www.extranjeria.gov.cl/clasif_visa_temp.html

Have a look at that site. Lots of different types of visas available, if you qualify. I am not employed in Chile, nor am I an investor, but i got a temporary residence visa based on my work and income from New Zealand, the Jubilados y Rentistas (TE-6).

that sums it all up! Visas for people pushing religion, scientists have to grapple with bureaucratic hell...

o.k., we bundled up all the suggestions, and a pile of our own experiences fighting the beucratic beast, and forwarded it to our contact at the ministry of interior.

Still, if anyone else wants to add more suggestions / problems, will leave this thread alive and kicking.

quick update. The survey and suggestions got to where it needed to go, and were being seriously considered. A lot of the suggestions where pure administrative issues. We have seen some recent internal moves at immigration that suggest perhaps some of those suggestions got passed down the line as marching orders to immigration. What that means we are still not sure.

That said, I posted a related update on a related effect of that document being pushed over to the ministry of economy and a meeting we had yesterday with them. You can read that here:
