I suggest Noam Chomsky's book, "Failed States: The Abuse of Power and the Assault on Democracy" as a good read on this subject.
Though I don't always concur with Chomsky's logic or conclusions, his book has a lot of valuable facts upon which one can make your own decisions.
My perspective of which states are 'failed', 'failing' or 'rogue' changed significantly after reading the book.

PS: I would have no problems following a female leader.
(Especially if she has a good-looking backside.) Did I say that?

Caveat applicable to all I write: I might be wrong.

We must be referring to different charges. Here I may go by the name Red, but it doesn't describe my politics. I might find it interesting to learn more about the person wearing a Che shirt, but I would never follow them. In fact, I don't ascribe to any political direction or leaning per se except to look out for yours truly (and his family and community).

As a married man, nor would I.

Who knows, maybe the "fight" will be a civilized one and no one need put their life on the line. In that case, with lower stakes, maybe any number of people can be leaders and spokespersons. Many probably feel that way. I think they are vastly underestimating both the opposition and what it takes to lead.

Interesting perspectives! I was simply responding to your contention that females can not be strong leaders. The reason I mentioned Camila is because she appears to be a strong leader of the 'student movement' in Chile with, apparently, wide support.
