Ah, yes - stream of consciousness - the undergraduates' universal excuse for lack of attention to spelling, style, and content. In such cases the explanation might better be known as a rivulet of unconsciousness.
Not to worry. There are lot of people in Chile who don't know the difference between a shoo and a shoe, or a hole in the ground, for that matter. And there are among them many who fancy themselves to be experts in English and ideally suited to teaching the language. Some could not speak passable English if their lives depended on it, though it seems as though their livelihoods do. The standards for such things are so abysmally low in this country that it's likely that no one would notice, or care, whether or not a self-proclaimed teacher understood the rudiments of grammar, orthography, or punctuation. You're evidently only coming here on an extended holiday, so there is no point in taking any of this work seriously.
By the way, did you happen to go to Texas A&M?
