Thanks for all the help everyone - looks like I'm in the right hands now. Fingers crossed this situation will be able to be resolved.

I just wanted to follow up with this post. Thanks to Spencer Global my name change went perfectly in Chile and everything was fixed in a month and a half (wow!). Zandra is a delight to work with and just incredible. I can't recommend her enough. I was able to keep my same RUT number, get my visa reissued in my new passport, get my updated carnet and then make changes to isapre, afp, banking etc....

So thanks everyone. It is possible with a little bit of work and the right connections.

Since Chile recognizes the name on your passport as your legal name (for Chileans it is the birth certificate) you might have to get a new passport as well!
