Not so quick. Chilean courts can and often do void property transfer schemes before death. Not so much because of tax reasons, but because they are designed to deprive a mandatory inheritor of their right. For example (hypothitcal) giving your land to your best friend, years before your death, so that your kid you had a fight with gets nothing.

What about setting up a trust; perhaps an offshore trust? I know little about them and nothing about how they'd be considered by Chilean law. But it seems like a good answer if recognized in Chile.
Unapologetically conservative (from a contemporary perspective), liberal (historically), complementary (gender perspective), Austrian (economically), Christian (fallen perspective) and, thus, contrarian (lemming perspective).
