Race car mechanics ?

Postby peregrine77 » Sun Jul 17, 2011 8:00 pm

Just wondering if there are any open wheel race car mechanics or owners in central Chile?
I worked on sprint cars and a lot of Indy Cars.
Dale Coyne Racing is who I worked for if anybody cares?
Hope to find some old bench racers at these nice lower latitudes.
Thanks, Gregorio

I don't know about finding other mechanics to bench race with, but if your interested in spinning wrenches there might be an opportunity with a rally team. Let me know if your interested and I can hook you up with Jeremias Israel. If you don't know who he is, once you look for the name it will become fairly evident.

Wow, thank you for this information. Mr. Israel needs no introduction!
I helped build a World Cup Rallye car for a rich Englishman and was offered to also drive the race. All dreams were
dashed when I found out I get very motion sick looking down to read a map while moving. Oh well, always a bridesmaid.
Do you have any racing experience?
Thank you weston.

No.

Nobody can even drive competently here, let alone race.

There is a "let's set fire to the neighbour's auto" competition, however.

My experience is in racing motocross. The way that technology has evolved in that sport is unfortunately eliminating many people's ability to compete. I switched back to 2 strokes because I can rebuild a motor for a couple hundred bucks, vs. a couple of thousand for the 4's.
