Here is the story but it said she is chilena. It was in the news last month for the extradition issues (extradition of chilean national to the Evil Empire -- supposedly the first case in 50 years involving extradition of chilean national from Chile to EEUU and it had to be approved by CL supreme court). Do you need translation or more information? I bet part of the outcome is going to be even more difficult and stupid behaviours surrounding sending money to Chile.

Yea, when it is a foreigner they tend to just deport them administratively. They get to skip the round trip to the supreme court that way.

Oh I get it, instead of putting someone in a Chilean jail; they figure a better punishment would be to have them live in the states! That’s just cruel. Nobody deserves to be treated like that! :D

The Chilean govt is being smart by doing so. Instead of Chilean taxpayers financing the incarceration, the US taxpayers do so. It sounds like good financial strategy. And, besides, the US govt L-O-V-E-S putting people in jail . . . so everyone wins (sort of).

Yes - I agree with you. I was just making a joke about living in the states. That's all. :)
