Sending stuff to DC? I can help...

Postby LeahFawn » Fri Jun 17, 2011 6:19 pm

Hey all... I am leaving from Santiago to the Washington, DC area Monday, June 27th. I will be there for 2 months, and have very little luggage. If anyone would like to send something that way (preferable for pick-up at IAD) I would be happy to help out. We can also arrange delivery in the DC/VA/MD/WVA area for a small fee. Let me know!

Hi, could you bring some textiles for me to my cousin? She lives in McClean, I think it is in VA. Would be glad to pay expenses and something extra for your time and efforts.

I would be happy to help with the textiles. Just PM me! I am originally from rockville, MD but I will be working all over the metro area and staying in Charles town, WVA. The offer also stands for bringing stuff back to santiago around august 30!

Hi Leah,

I think I'm not using the PM correctly? the messages seem to be in my outbox and not sent. I have a suitcase ready, could you please contact me to make arrangements? My email is albertcscs@yahoo.com or through this forum.

Thanks,

Albert

Hi all... I still have room for about one normal-sized suitcase. Leaving Monday at 6pm to IAD via Dallas.

It's pretty brave of you to take someones elses suitcase without really knowing the contents inside on an international flight. Just saying, this could spell trouble for you.

On a side note: I think you will find alot of business to be made in mexico should you ever choose to go.

l would think it would be assumed this day and age that something like this is not quite as simple as taking a mystery bag onboard... obviously some serious security measures will take place beforehand. That being said, it is still possible for good people to do good things and not get screwed in the process... just sayin'.

Yes it is still possible, but the reverse is also still possible. I hate to see a good person get burnt. Just saying.

Yeah, what are you going to say that won't get the Customs dude more interested IF you are pulled for secondary. And what if "something" is found hidden in the lining or wherever?

Outgoing is probably not a problem as the airlines stopped asking the bag questions at checkin and have long done away with the initial screening at checkin (remember those old timers?).

So let me tell you what happened. I met Leah in Santiago with my little suitcase of textiles I had collected. We had a beer and chatted, and she seemed like a nice person, well traveled and educated. So I gave her the suitcase and $20,000 pesos for expenses, so she could UPS it to my cousin. When she arrived, she emailed me that she was safe and sound, and my suitcase made it through customs no problem. That's the last I have heard. She never called my cousin, never answered my calls or emails and ,needless to say, never delivered my textiles. They are gone with Leah!

You can't trust anyone these days, let that be a lesson to me and all the forum readers.
