dear gatito - once there was a book...
a VERY good book, called "the hawkline monster"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hawkline_Monsterrichard brautigan was the author...
(btw - brautigan's more famous book was "trout fishing in america")
(he also wrote "a confederate general from big sur")but, we digress...
in the hawkline monster, one of the heroes always counted everything
now we have evoked memories of that most amazing book
now we will have to go find a copy again - forthwith...
and read it for perhaps the 5th or 6th time?
(yes, it was that good!)
btw - this counting thing...
this is usually associated with some form of OCD
there are drugs for this condition - usually SSRI's
suerte...
btw2 - part of the plot involves this theme...
...the monster is somehow altering their minds to make them lose track of what (and who) they are discussing.
