Poll: Instruments for Measuring Time

Postby RuneTheChookcha » Fri May 27, 2011 10:23 pm

How many clocks or watches do you have? Either on you, or in your house? Computers/cell phones excluded. I have a watch (one of the cheapest CASIO watches, genuine Japanese, bought in 2005 for $19.oo only), and a small alarm-clock (plastic one, Chinese).

Rune, you're back (as yourself)!

Should I divide my number of household clocks by the number of family members and round to the nearest integer? What about my cats?

Cheers,

James.

James, it is so very nice to see you!

I am not in the best position to hear you well, its raining heavily here, and all that.. So, what do you say? You must divide all your household clocks among your family members? Right now?..

And what about the cats? They are hungry, you say? Please, give the cats something to eat! And something to drink, you know.. Something to drink. Something strong, James. Like milk, or what not..

Look, look, who the hell just voted "1"?

What, you have only ONE clock?..

James, look, please be serious. Please re-count your clocks. Use a calculator. They must be more than one. Just look around.

Do you know what clocks look like, generally? It has a FACE. And digits, like 1. 2. 3.... and 12. You see?

Please, do it.

My cats have eaten a great deal and are very busy licking themselves in front of the Bosca. I suppose they don't use the clocks a great deal, so I will divide them between myself and my wife. What about the clocks on the weather monitor and the cable television box (has to be useful for something)?

I have not voted yet as I wouldn't want to miscount my clocks or divide them inappropriately. When I have completed my study of the clocks they will be included in the counting.

Well, I see. Do not hurry.

Not sure what the "weather monitor" is.. We talk CLOCKS and TIME here. Not WEATHER.

What about the cable television box? Is it the "television" part that has a clock in it, or the "box"? I don't have either of these.

So, please -- just "normal" clocks. With FACE.

Also, is it not you who voted "1", right?

Ah, real, analogue, mechanical clocks? Now I will have to start again. But there is one on my wrist so I have a head start. No, it is not my clock in the voting, it has been clocked by an anonymous chronophile.

are these "instruments" too?

James, stop fooling around and be serious. Concentrate. I have to go to the shower now -- you count your clocks now.

Real, surreal, analogue, digital, mechanical, whatever clocks -- but with FACE!

Or maybe not?.. Look, on your wrist -- does it have a FACE? Or "digital" digits? Does it make sound? "tick-tick-tick.."
